Dr Alexis Havugimana is a Researcher-Academician and an Artist in multidisciplinary, provide strong academic leadership, to manage and develop the department to ensure it achieves the highest possible standards of excellence in all its activities (teaching, research and consultancy). He did his PhD’s in Development studies, master’s degree holder in Development studies with first Class honors, Bachelor Degree of Enterprise communication and management   with honors first class, and Bachelor degree in Public Health.  He is delivering high quality outcomes for consultant services, Managerial, social sciences, institutional management, academic, governmental, and no-profit institutions. His most recent roles have involved Lectures responsibilities.

Typical duties include:

Ø planning teaching, including lectures, seminars/tutorials and learning materials

Ø meeting students individually to discuss progress

Ø checking and assessing students’ work

Ø pursuing research

Ø interviewing potential students

Ø carrying out administration, such as attending faculty meetings and writing reports

Ø writing research proposals, papers and other publications

Ø supervising students and research staff

Ø Extend, transform and apply knowledge applied from different areas  to teaching and appropriate external activities including knowledge generation, knowledge exchange and knowledge transfer activities.

Ø managing research budgets

Ø preparing bids for funding for departmental research projects.

Ø Engage in collaborative partnerships and contribute to the University’s work in influencing leading edge practice

Ø Develop research objectives and proposals for own or joint research.

Competition for senior roles is strong, and lecturers are expected to publish their research to progress their careers. Academia is a relatively small world, so networking can be key to hearing about career opportunities.
